XL unveiled its plug-in hybrid electric Ford Super Duty F-250 pickup truck ( earlier post ) at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. These numbers are consistent with what the PHEV F-150 has been proven to achieve at EPA-certified testing facilities.

Although the EPA has not as of this writing released the final fuel economy numbers for the US A3 e-tron, Filip Brabec, Director, Product Management, Audi of America, said that the figures will be around 83 to 86 MPGe combined (depending on the equipment level), with 35 to 39 mpg gasoline only and 16-17 miles of EV range. Battery is under 10kWh: Currently only five PHEVs would not meet the proposed 10 kWh threshold: Toyota Prius Prime (8.8 kWh) Hyundai IONIQ PHEV (8.9 kWh) Kia Niro PHEV (8.9 But all of these PHEVs have batteries of around 9 kWh and so they could easily be upgraded to 10 kWh to qualify for the tax credit.
