A modification of the prior strap is basically what is suggested in the DC kit instructions. I found a funny shaped link in the kit, but could simply not get it to fit anywhere in the system.

One of the other 914 kit converters questioned why the accessory battery couldn't stay in the original tray, but I decided to remove it anyway and have the accessory battery up in the front trunk near the DC/DC converter. It's a pity that we have to remove this, but the size of the golf-cart batteries clearly interfere with the latch.

The small electric will be king and batteries a valuable commodity, so valuable in fact, they will have to be wielded in to prevent theft by the Solar, Wind, Wave, Tidal, folks for their home installations! Lead batts are around 98% recycled.
