Hoffman Auto group questioned the legality of the permit granted to Tesla while claiming that having the EV maker set up shop in the state would put jobs at risk and kill competitive pricing. .

The certifications are valid for a single model year, and new model year vehicles make their way to the EPA’s testing facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan every year to confirm they align with the EPA’s emissions standards.
