France’s IFPEN studying industrial potential of onshore sources of natural hydrogen

IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) has become one of the first global research centers actively to investigate onshore natural hydrogen emissions after the discovery of offshore sources of the gas in the 1970s. The H 2 used in industry is mainly produced by converting natural gas (CH 4 ), which has the downside of emitting CO 2.
