Scientist have confirmed that unlike gasoline cars, plug-ins will get cleaner as they get older -- because our power grid is getting cleaner. They are converting up to 40 15-passenger Mercedes commercial vans into PHEVs, with some vehicles using NiMH and others advanced lithium-ion batteries, plus diesel and gasoline engines.

So now finally we have the technology to deliver everything to customers and with things like plugins you don’t have the range anxiety so that does kind of relieve most of the tradeoffs, certainly. Recent public policies in the United States and other countries have improved the prospects for initial commercialization of PEVs.
