The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $5 million in grant funding for 4 clean diesel projects at ports in California, Oregon, New Jersey and Texas. The Port of Houston Authority will replace 25 drayage trucks with drayage trucks powered by certified engines that are model year 2011 or newer.

The grants will fund projects such as retrofitting older school buses to improve air quality for children riding to school, upgrading marine propulsion and agriculture engines, and replacing long haul truck engines. Louis Clean Cities is replacing six school busses. Port of Houston is replacing 14 drayage trucks. North Carolina.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced three recovery act grants totaling $20 million in funding for the SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance Program. These recovery act grants will fund the purchase of new, cleaner or retrofitted vehicles and equipment.
