The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants. The true impact of electric vehicles should consider the make-up of the power grids where these cars will be used. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius. I’m sick of hearing about the Prius….I The bottleneck is infrastructure.

Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not.
