It has now re-established it as an electrified sub-brand of GMC. But it’s the EV we’re most interested because it will likely use the 800V electrical architecture from the Kia EV6 and EV9. A sizeable 142kWh battery pack was claimed to cover about 320km between charges. We’re watching on with interest.

BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. And if we’re guessing, we reckon it could be called the Ranger Lightning (see above). GMC Sierra EV ute – it shares plenty with the Chevrolet Silverado underneath, so no surprise the GMC version is set to adopt electrification. Soon, apparently.

He envisioned “hundreds of thousands” of charging spots, as well as a number of stations where drained batteries could be exchanged for fresh ones. Charge, drain, repeat is extremely inefficient. Finally, in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the United States, Mitsubishi announced a strategic alliance with Oregon to develop an electric car charging infrastructure in the state. The big problems now is how to create a battery that can charge rapidly and infrastructure to charge them. If you charge with solar, is way less.
