Cheap to run but expensive to buy, they offer theprospect of low or zero carbon emissions, but manufacturers won’t sell themunless motorists want to buy them – and motorists won’t buy unless the priceis right and there are enough places to charge the batteries. Is it becuase US market prefers a "home" product?

Mr. Kulongoski wants to make Oregon the go-to state for electric vehicle production. Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not. In the U.S. Not good for large EV’s but great for light ones.
