Giant Food just announced it would be installing Volta charging stations at one of its grocery stores in Fairfax, Virginia. They’ll also take advantage of significant tax credits before they’re gone.

The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). The project will deploy 554 alternative fuel and hybrid electric vehicles and install 153 alternative fueling and electric vehicle charging stations throughout the Chicago region. Total DOE award: $15,000,000.

After a company sells 200,000 qualified PEVs, the credit begins to phase out for all of its electric models. This credit covers 30% of the cost of the station up to $30,000.
