O’Dowd: I was in a [Tesla] car, as a passenger, testing on a country road, and a BMW approached. where it hardly ever rains, the roads are new and wide, the traffic lights are normalized and standardized. Then it expanded into Phoenix, also relatively easy. That’s when you founded the Dawn Project. What’s next?

This is your Lightning eMotors, Motiv, Phoenix Motors—early days. Washington state has an abundance of power very cheap from all the hydro. I watched the BMW i3s at Delaware University [an early V2X pilot], and my mind was blown. At the time, there were eleven OEMs. The pioneer of vehicle-to-grid is part of my team.
