It is alarming to see comparisons of the Chevrolet Volt PHEV with battery electric cars when the comparison focuses only on the electric range and ignores the other important differences. The impetus for this change came from a study by the US Idaho National Lab [ 2 ]. Already the Chevrolet Volt is moving us in that direction.
