The Q3 handles with a lively friskiness that’s just fun enough to liven up the dreary commute, though the steering feels, as if often the case these days with VW/Audi products, a bit too light and disconnected. The fuel economy, which is best in Touring mode, is rated by the EPA at 24 mpg city/29 highway/26 combined mpg. mpg, same as the EPA. We were pleased to cross the 30 mpg mark and surpass the EPA 29 mpg rating by so much. In 365 miles of mostly freeway driving we averaged 26.1

One week I was in an Audi Q5 Quattro with an efficient turbocharged 2.0-liter liter gas engine (28 mpg highway) for a run in the snow up to Lake Tahoe. I followed that with a week in an Audi Q4 E-tron EV driving several hundred miles around town. As similar as the two Audis were, the differences really stood out to me.
