Chevrolet and GMC will offer new bi-fuel versions of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra heavy-duty trucks and all-new dedicated compressed natural gas versions of the 2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size passenger vans next year. Production for the bi-fuel trucks and CNG vans is scheduled to begin early next year.

Tell your local dealer you’ll buy a hyrid with a plug. A year ago Ford nabbed a significant endorsement from the Sierra Club for its limited edition Mercury Mariner hybrid (29/35 mpg - gasoline only) and a promise of 250,000 hybrids by 2010. Ethanol is the alternative fuels flavor of the month, and Ford jumped on GM’s yellow bandwagon.

GMC Sierra EV ute – it shares plenty with the Chevrolet Silverado underneath, so no surprise the GMC version is set to adopt electrification. The company has already done plenty of background work (dealer training, charging infrastructure, etc) so it can push the button on the e-Niro later in 2021. Due in Australia early 2022.
