Ford will return to Le Mans in 2016 with the all-new Ford GT supercar ( earlier post ) to compete in the LM GTE Pro class, commemorating the 50 th anniversary of Ford’s 1966 overall victory. Ford GT is company’s showcase for aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction, along with the new twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6.

At the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this week, Ford delivered first proof of that focus with the reveal of the new Ford GT carbon-fiber supercar, as well as the new F-150 Raptor based on the new aluminum F-150 and the Shelby GT350R Mustang. They feature more suspension travel than the current Raptor’s 11.2
