Sasol currently uses aerobic microbes to treat GTL and coal-to-liquids (CTL) effluents in ORYX GTL, Qatar and Synfuels, Secunda facilities. Sasol pioneered the treatment of effluents from the GTL process in Ras Laffan, Qatar, where effluents are treated and recycled for use as irrigation water in the city of Ras Laffan.

The GLNG project consists of the development of coal seam gas fields, the construction of a 420-kilometer (261-mile) gas transmission pipeline and of a liquefaction plant of 7.2 First LNG will be delivered in 2015.
