At present, 17 of the 27 EU Member States levy CO 2 -related taxes on passenger cars, and 15 governments provide tax incentives for electrically chargeable vehicles, according to the newly published European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) Tax Guide 2010.

In a letter to Senator Feinstein dated September 23, Administrator Jackson stated EPA’s interpretation that the Murkowski amendment as filed would “make it impossible for the Environmental Protection Agency to promulgate the light-duty vehicle greenhouse-gas emissions standards that the agency proposed on September 15, 2009.”.

The detailed data supporting the report were obtained directly from automobile manufacturers. Light truck market share had been more variable in recent years, e.g., truck share changed by 4% or more in each year for MY 2009-2012, with two years of increases and two years of decreases.
