The 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show opens to the public today with a glittering display of green cars taking pride of place. More importantly, will feature more than 50 of the newest hybrids and alternative. fuel vehicles including hybrids, modern clean-diesel, electric, hydrogen fuel cell and ethanol powered vehicles.

The vehicle scooped the Car of the Year award in Japan in its debut year, and the third generation of the model took the prize again in 2009. The 2009 clean-diesel Jetta TDI for example, has scooped numerous ‘Green Car of the Year’ titles and reduces emissions by 90 per cent.
