Thanks to its range of fuel efficient models, Ford is leading the industry in terms of reducing carbon dioxide levels according to research from an environmental website. The Ford Fiesta ECOnetic is the UK’s greenest family car with emissions of just 98g/km and fuel economy at 76.3mpg.

The scrappage incentive, which applies to buyers trading in a 10-year-old car for a new model, will apply to all vehicles in the Volkswagen range. This means that the Polo super-mini will be available from just £6,345, while the Golf, which was recently crowned World Car of the Year, is available from as little as £11,585.
