In the past, the baseline was the manufacturers’ confidential plans for each model year; in the new analysis, the baseline is each manufacturer’s MY 2008 fleet. Turbocharging and downsizing (TRBDS): increases the available airflow and specific power level, allowing a reduced engine size while maintaining performance.
