Valence’s Saphion technology, commercially introduced in 2002, refers to the processes and materials used in developing the novel patented lithium iron magnesium phosphate cathode materials. In 2007 they sold 260 vehicles worth approximately £26 million and were expanding their capacity in the UK to be able to convert 3,000 vehicles in 2008.
