Used Car of the Day: 2002 Nissan R34
Today we bring you an insanely expensive used car -- it's so expensive because it's so rare.
It's 2002 Nissan R34.
Only 750 were made, and only 62 in this color.
This one is a V-Spec II and has a Haltech-Ti exhaust and some NISMO mods.
The New Jersey-based seller appears to be some sort of collector and/or small dealer, based on his Instagram, and we usually try to avoid featuring cars sold by these folks -- simply because UCOTD finds are more interesting when they belong to some average Joe or Jane -- but this one looked cool.
Even at the $340,000 price. Click here if you want to see it.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Buying this as an investment is much riskier than rare 60's era performance cars. If I had the cash for this I'd lean towards a Shelby Mustang or Galaxie Lightweight.
My friend's son has a R34 he races at the track. The RB25 is currently being rebuilt to around 600hp. In a stripped R34 this engine should make it quite fast.
