Used Car of the Day: Land Rover 109 Pickup
Do you like rare old trucks? I like rare old trucks. This Land Rover 109 of indeterminate year and mileage is definitely a rare old truck.
It's right-hand drive and the seller claims it runs and drives well but the brakes need work.
There is some rust on the bulkhead. The seats and lights are on the newer side, and so is the fuel tank. Apparently everything works, including the drivetrain -- but the final words of the listing are a gut punch: "Needs a new chassis."

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

This is a great opportunity for us, compared to our peers, having the multi-energy platforms for all of our products in development and having the agility to move between them,” she said. From what is stated about the next generation Charger it will be released as a 2 door EV and then as a 4 door with the Hurricane turbo straight 6. I assume both the 2 door and 4 door is on the same platform.

Back when I had transfer orders to Swaziland, I would have snapped this up. Just the thing for a bush mechanic to maintain.
I took the Isuzu Trooper instead.
Aren't there restrictions on imports of some older Land Rovers? Is this a legal import, or snuck across the border from Canada on a flatbed and not registered? Massachusetts doesn't require front license plates, but that's a decidedly non-Massachusetts plate on the front bumper.
