New EVA officers for a new year
Borseth, Kirsch, Macias, and Peters elected!
Launching 2022 with a fresh start, Elaine Borseth has been elected as president of the Electric Vehicle Association, succeeding April Bolduc. Terri Kirsch was elected to take Borseth’s place as vice-president, Jonathan Macias succeeds Kirch as secretary, and Michael Peters will retain his position as the organIzatIon’s treasurer.

A longtime member of the EVA Board, Elaine previously served as both vice-president and membership director. With her primary focus on membership development, she is very much responsible for the launch of many of our 100 chapters. She has been instrumental in inspiring the goal of educating local communities about the benefits of clean transportation.
“I’m very excited to take this new position at such an important time for electric vehicles (EVs),” Borseth said.
Borseth has been passionate about EVs since her first test drive of a Tesla Model S in 2014. She received her Model S P85D in February of 2015, and following her retirement later that year, embarked on her first of many cross country road trips including a 4 month, 16,000-mile journey.
Since then, she has continued to drive her Tesla all over the U.S. and Canada, inspiring other EVA members such as former president Rajean Fellows to follow her example. She has also served as president of the Electric Vehicle Association of San Diego, now the largest EVA chapter in the country.
“I know the EVA can be an even stronger and more influential presence at this very crucial juncture,” Borseth said. “I’m committed to leading the way forward to making that happen.”
Terri Kirsch, vice-president
Terri Kirsch, the former EVA treasurer, secretary, and election commissioner brings her experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors to her new position as vice-president.
Kirsch joined Electric Car Insider in 2017 as the Managing Tour Director, now Vice President of Business Development, for the Electric Car Guest Drive national tour. Terri has worked closely with numerous EVA chapters to educate utility company customers on what it’s like to drive electric with over 100 EV events around the nation. She is a serial entrepreneur, always thinking of ways to create businesses with thoughtful leadership.
As a private pilot, the name change to “Electric Vehicle Association” resonates with Terri as she looks forward to the rollout of electric planes making the skies quieter and cleaner!
Terri is passionate about driving her new 2022 red Tesla Model S on the streets of San Diego. She is proud to say there are now five electric vehicles in her family, including her first Tesla which is now driven by her 86-year-old father…creating generations of EV lovers.
Jonathan Macias, Secretary
Recently elected to the EVA national board, Macias is the founder and president of the Rio Grande Electric Auto Association. As the grants manager for Dona Ana County in New Mexico, he is involved with clean transportation on a daily basis. He has been a long-time advocate for EVs and owns a Tesla Model 3.
Michael Peters, Treasurer
Michael Peters is beginning his second term as EVA treasurer. He is the CEO and founder of Sway Mobility, an EV carshare service that works with real estate developers, cities, and nonprofits looking for additional avenues to expose their tenants and residents to EVs.
Previous to launching Sway, Peters spent two decades as an investment banker. He serves on several non-profit boards, and works as the lead volunteer for Drive Electric Northeast Ohio, a grassroots EV car club affiliated with the state's EPA Clean Cities Coalition organization.
