This $15,000 Lift Kit Will Take Your Tesla Model Y to the Clouds

Do you own a Model Y? Do you own a Model Y and wish it could do cool off-road activities? If you answered “yes” to those questions, check out this $15,000 kit to raise the electric SUV by several inches.

Pu.Labo’s lift kit brings two aftermarket subframe components, new spindle gussets, and revised upper and lower control arms. The adjustable height settings give the SUV between 2.5 and five extra inches, and wheel travel maxes out at eight inches.

The kit, which is also available for the Tesla Model 3, has been tested over thousands of miles and through extreme conditions. So, while it certainly looks to have been designed and built in a garage somewhere, it’s actually quite robustly engineered.

While this product gives the Model Y an almost cartoonish look, it’s surprising that there hasn’t been a more robust aftermarket for Tesla customization. The automaker sells more EVs than anyone else in the world, making the Model Y and Model 3 two of the most popular vehicles of any type.

Pu.Labo shared images of lifted Model Ys with its announcement, which show an awkwardly proportioned SUV with tiny wheels and beefed-up but still small tires. While the kit undoubtedly adds ride height and ground clearance, it’s hard to imagine it being popular with all but a small group of diehard enthusiasts and YouTubers.

Neat! Buy a POS with an already short range and make it even shorter! How cool

Who is Pu.Labo? It sounds like some brand sold on Amazon, like multiple copies of the same product, with randomly generated names.

Given that these vehicles have independent front and rear suspension, how much can you lift them before you start causing issues for the CV joints in the drive axles?
