While new owner Wanxiang looks to restart production of the Fisker Karma extended-range electric sedan, the man who gave his name to the car--Henrik Fisker--seems to have plans of his own.
The man after whom the now-defunct Fisker Automotive was named will appear at back-to-back press conferences at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show next week, ostensibly to introduce two new cars.

Both appearances will be in conjunction with Ford dealer Galpin. The first will be with Galpin Auto Sports--the company's custom-car arm--and the other with Galpin Motors.

Fisker resigned as his namesake company's chairman last March, before it went bankrupt and its assets were auctioned off.
After his departure, Fisker appeared to remain loyal to the company. He later collaborated with a Hong Kong investment group to buy it back, but was ultimately outmaneuvered by Wanxiang--one of China's largest auto-parts suppliers.
However, the collaboration with Galpin could indicate that Fisker the man is taking a different path from Fisker the range-extended electric luxury car.

He also ran Fisker Coachbuild, which produced restyled versions of BMW and Mercedes-Benz luxury cars.

That resume could well appeal to a company like Galpin, which has found plenty of business customizing cars as well as selling them through its huge dealerships.
We'll learn all of the details of Henrik Fisker's plans November 20, when he's scheduled for his two press conferences during the Los Angeles Auto Show media days.
