Today's used car of the day is a 2016 Ford Focus RS that calls to the boy racer in all of us.

There are about 35K miles on the clock and this car has 18-inch wheels, Michelin tires, and a manual transmission.

It also has stainless steel brake lines, upgraded brake pads, slotted brake rotors on the front wheels, upgraded brake fluid, Ohlin coilovers, and more. That "more" also includes the exhaust and the intercooler. There's also a Steeda rear sway bar.

Inside, the car gets upgrades like a carbon-fiber gauge bezel and ceramic window tint.

The head gasket has been replaced, and the owner has spare parts -- both OEM parts and parts for modifications.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Seriously, what did you expect? Who found this gem?

Tim did, and it is consistent with his other finds.

At least it is not 44 years old.

And you pay thru the nose for the low miles, while a high mile specimen of same 2016 would cost half that and be in better shape (highway miles) if well maintained.

How much will the Corolla GR and Civic R be in a few years?

The RS is AWD so this car is perfect as a winter beater.

Jokes aside, most guys who heavily mod think they can get their money back at the sale. It rarely happens, especially now that used car prices have come down some.

35k and on it’s second head gasket?

Racerboy cars with mods usually have been beaten to within an inch of their life.
