Used Car of The Day: 2005 Ford GT

Maybe it's because we covered a $300,000 Ford Mustang last night. Maybe it's because I've always loved the looks of this generation Ford GT -- I've never driven one. Or maybe it's because I am feeling saucy on a summer Friday. Whatever the reason, today I bring you this California-based 2005 Ford GT.

Before you whine about us featuring a $375,000 used car, please remember that the point of this feature isn't to sell you the car -- the point is to feature cool cars, regardless of price or condition, and if you happen to spend more time on the forums our parent company runs, so much the better.

This is why sometimes we feature barely running heaps, project cars, or oddballs. Today, however, we're going with a "meticulously" maintained supercar from San Diego that has four options, 14,000 miles, and has had just two owners.

This car has a rear bumper delete, Ahlman shocks, a muffler delete, and a short shift kit.

Ok, yes I'm a Ford fan, so this fits with the Cobra kit that was posted here a bit ago. I don't normally go for cars of this type, but this one hits all the go buttons. There are starting to be a several Lambos and Ferarris here, so why not Ford's finest ripping Iowa Street? Dream big.

You can drive a 2004 Ford GT in GTA 4's sub storyline; The Ballad of Gay Tony. It is labelled as a Bullet GT.

  Licencing issues?
  My issue with GTA is that whenever I see a car hauler, ramp truck, trailer with ramps down etc. I think, I can jump that. LOL

  My favorites were the FIB Buffalo (Dodge Charger Police), Übermacht Sentinel (BMW M3) and Little Jacob's drug runner car (late 70's Monte or 600) (that's a true POS bad shocks, little braking and handling) Funny thing was how the driving dynamics in the game are like real life. GTA 4 in game physics were well ahead of it's time.

  You just conjured old memories of the bootleg version of the pre-release original GTA (via an FTP site out of Australia) we played for hours back in the college days before its US release. Hours of fun fragging on the network games.

  It was also a hidden car in Driv3r, as well as a Cobra. Destroyed that poor car many times.

Wolfwagen How about some standardization of wiper controls? I have 5 different cars in my family's fleet and have driven a ton of rentals for work. Holy F*cking Sh*t Balls! Left side, right side, push the lever up to turn on, push the lever down to turn on, push the lever forward to turn on, pull the lever back to turn, slide indicator to the left to decrease intermittent wipe time, slide indicator to the right to decrease intermittent wiper time.

Rochester Tim, where was your head at in 1984 when it became a law to wear your seatbelt? Personally I thought it was none of the Gubmint's bizniss to force me to belt up. Today, I feel exposed and unsafe without it. My point is, give it time, both the tech and your values will evolve.

V8fairy Not scared, but I would be reluctant to put my trust in it. The technology is just not quite there yet
