Used Car of the Day: 2005 Lotus Elise

Want to own a low-mileage Lotus? Now you can. This 2005 Lotus Elise has just 19K miles on the clock.

It has Bemani supercharger, though the supercharger is apparently inoperable at the moment. The car runs and drives, the supercharger is just being bypassed.

There are minor cosmetic flaws and the hardtop is missing the headliner.

Modifications include a harness bar and race harnesses, XXR wheels, carbon-fiber wing, carbon-fiber cooling duct with scoop, upgraded cam, custom titanium intake, custom stainless steel exhaust headers, detachable steering wheel, and more.

The ask is $32,000.

So when the toyota 2ZZ engine is mounted in the Fwd Celica GT-S the YAMAHA casting on the head is prominent but it becomes hidden in the MR configuration on the Lotus cars. You have to pull out the passenger's side rear fender liner to see it.

Very few pictures? Check

Price too good to be true? Check

Enough "real car" info to convince the gullible it's a real car? Check

Weird story as to its provenance and location? Check

Or perhaps you prefer "EV sales share".If you are in the U.S., whatever you do, do not select "World" in the 'Region' dropdown. It might blow your small insular mind. 😉

Jeff Look at the the 65 and 66 Pontiacs some of the most beautiful and well made Pontiacs. 66 Olds Toronado and 67 Cadillac Eldorado were beautiful as well. Mercury had some really nice looking cars during the 60s as well. The 69 thru 72 Grand Prix were nice along with the first generation of Monte Carlo 70 thru 72. Midsize GM cars were nice as well.The 69s were still good but the cheapening started in 68. Even the 70s GMs were good but fit and finish took a dive especially the interiors with more plastics and more shared interiors.
Proud2BUnion I typically recommend that no matter what make or model you purchase used, just assure that is HAS a prior salvage/rebuilt title. Best "Bang for your buck"!
