InoBat claims 20% range boost by 2023, Gigafactory by 2025

Slovakia-based battery startup InoBat Auto announced Friday that it will introduce an electric-car battery with greater energy density than anything else currently on the market. The battery will allow for a 20% boost in range for "current best-in-class" electric vehicles by 2023, the startup said in a press release.

PEUGEOT estimates it will assemble up to 10,000 batteries a month for its car range by next year, and as many as 7,000 batteries a month for its advanced LCV range. In 2022, more than 70% of the PEUGEOT range sold worldwide is electrified. This will require a substantial uplift in the number of batteries being produced.

Bratislava orders 4 Solaris hydrogen buses; Solaris signs contract for 2,000th e-bus

These buses will be the first hydrogen buses in Slovakia. In 2019, a platform for the bi-articulated Urbino 24 electric was developed, and in 2020 the Urbino 15 LE electric was launched as the first intercity e-bus in Solaris’ electric range. This is the first order placed under a framework agreement.

EC approves second major battery innovation project; €2.9B (US$3.5B) from 12 member states

The project, called “European Battery Innovation” (EuBatIn) was jointly prepared and notified by Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. In 2018, the Commission adopted the Strategic Action Plan for Batteries and has promoted a wide range of initiatives as part of the plan.
