The GMC Sierra HD has been updated for 2024, and among the updates are new off-road-ready AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition. They come with upgrades like a 1.5-inch inch suspension lift, Multimatic’s DSSV spool-valve dampers, and 35-inch tires. The updated range will no longer off a W-12 engine, and may end up with hybrid powertains only.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV was ranked ninth on the list , between the GMC Sierra pickup truck and Mercedes-Benz G550 SUV. As always, the ACEEE also published a list of “greenest” vehicles for the environment, which this year was topped by the Toyota Prius Prime SE.

Toyota followed with the Prius a year later, but it took GM until 2006 to introduce its first true gasoline-electric hybrid here. If we look at the fine print, GM actually introduced a sort-of-a-hybrid vehicle as a 2004 model , though the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid/GMC Sierra Hybrid didn't have regenerative braking.

In advance of the market introduction of the new 2010 Prius, Toyota Prius sales dropped 61.5% 95 units of the two-mode pickups (Silverado, Sierra), representing 0.27% of sales of those models. Year-to-date US sales of Toyota hybrids through April are down 51% to 49,660 units from 101,334 for the same period last year.
