The Saturn Division spent the first half of the 1990s printing money for The General with its no-haggle pricing policy and plastic-bodied cars that only rusted in areas you couldn't see easily, and all those cars were based on a single platform: the S Series. But we're not here to mourn Saturn. This car has neither.

It's a 2002 Saturn SL1 with 220,000 miles and a rough engine, however it still runs. The price was $900 which was OK I think? I have bought my donor car. I have been looking for ages on Craigslist for the right car and toyed with all sort of cars. In the end I went with what was available and what I could afford.

With rising gasoline prices, I believe the demand for freeway capable electric vehicles is going to increase over the next few years. All the commercially available freeway-capable (70 mph) EVs are priced way out of reach for the average consumer. The Saturn came up a distant second, but everyone agreed that the Civic was the best.
