Algae.Tec to form JV in China for algae for renewable transportation fuels and carbon capture facility; raising A$5M

The facility will be purely focused on algae for the production of transport fuels. The facility will produce approximately 33 million liters of algae-derived transport oil and approximately 33,000 tonnes of biomass per annum at a combined value of more than $40 million, and capture 137,000 tonnes of waste carbon dioxide, according to Algae.Tec Executive Chairman, Roger Stroud. Exide and Leclanché launch Li-ion battery JV in India

Exide Industries Ltd, India’s largest manufacturer of lead acid storage batteries and power storage solutions provider, and Switzerland-based Li-ion battery manufacturer Leclanché SA announced a joint venture to build lithium-ion batteries and provide energy storage systems for India’s electric vehicle market and grid-based applications. The JV will focus on e-transport, on stationary energy storage systems and speciality storage markets.
