The electric car revolution has arrived in Norway thanks to home-grown car manufacturer Think and the BBC. A convoy of 60 vehicles hit the streets as part of the BBC documentary Electric Ride which is now a quarter of the way through its month long, 4,000 miles odyssey around Europe in a Think City electric car.

Think of Norway is set to announce plans for US manufacture and sales. Think personel will be meeting with representatives of Michigan and seven states on March 12th to discuss options for manufacturing. NK city will commence in mid-2010. The Think City will have a range of 112 miles and a top speed of 62mph.

The name of the new company that will market Think brand products is Electric Mobility Solutions AS, registered in Norway. A new sales and service structure for Think will be announced soon. The production restart, with a refined version of the Think City, is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2012.

Electric car maker, Think is celebrating hitting a production milestone of 2,500 units of its Think City model. The 2,500 car came off the assembly line today at production facilities in Finland, where the vehicle has been fully highway safety certified since 1999.
