What is in the store for us?

PS Ravi, the Executive Director Incharge (Retail) of BPCL inaugurated these EV fast-charging corridors. He said that the quick chargers are simple to use and may be self-operated without any manual help.

To provide a hassle-free and transparent online user experience, BPCL had digitalized the whole EV charger locating, charging operations, and transaction process using the HelloBPCL app, Ravi added.

The corridors will connect Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh, Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Jambukeswar Temple, Vallarpadam National Shrine of Basilica, St. Antony’s Church, Koratty and Markaz Knowledge City, as well as early sunrise viewing at Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, among other important religious and tourist destinations.

While talking about sustainable environment in Kerala, Ravi stated, “We are very humbled in the growth in the state of Kerala. We have decided to keep our best foot forward to reducing the emissions. We would definitely like to help the people in the country.”

Ravi also informed that BPCL has plans to install more than 7,000 charging stations across the nation.

BPCL has already transformed 21 motorways into electric corridors. Moving forward, 200 highways will be covered with EV fast chargers by March 2023. The decision will encourage and accelerate the EV expansion in the country.

Why fast charging stations are significant?

EVs are becoming increasingly popular globally as they are environmentally friendly and offer a more efficient and cost-effective mode of transportation. However, the lack of charging infrastructure has been one of the major roadblocks to their widespread adoption.

With the launch of EV fast charging stations, BPCL is addressing this challenge and encouraging more people to switch to electric vehicles. This move also aligns with the government’s vision of making India a global leader in electric mobility.

Fast charging stations can charge EVs much faster than conventional charging stations, making them more convenient for users. The BPCL’s initiative will not only promote the adoption of EVs but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality. Overall, this is a positive step towards achieving a sustainable future.
