Ather Rizta launched Here’re the Highlights of E-Scooter

Ather and Ola are competing against each other to become the number one EV startup in India. However, Ola Electric has been beating it since the beginning in terms of sales numbers, but if we look at the long-term game, what Ola is doing might not be healthy for the E-Vehicle industry, the way Ather has been working on building a robust foundation may make it a sustainable EV startup in the upcoming years.

In recent developments, Ather launched its brand new electric scooter, “Ather Rizta,” which the company positioned and marketed as family-friendly. To give you a context, Ather Energy initially positioned itself for a premium and young audience with its edgy and youth-friendly designs, but this time, they’ve come up with something that can change how people look at Ather Energy.

Ather Rizta E-Scooter Explained:

Understanding the Need of Ather Rizta:

Let’s briefly look at India’s EV 2-wheeler market. There are only 4 major players, i.e. Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS Motors, and Bajaj. Among these, Ola has a great sum of share, but due to poor servicing and build quality, their scooters are not reliable; we have Bajaj, which targets the elder audience; Ather targets the young audience as discussed above, and TVS operates in a grey area but very much inclined towards the elder audience.

Now, the EV market needs an electric scooter that is reliable, suitable for both young and elderly audiences, has loaded features, and is affordable. Understanding this need, Ather launched the “Ather Rizta,” an answer to all their questions.

How Rizta is the Right scooter for its segment:

It has all the requirements that both the younger and family E-Scooter needs.

  • Large Enough under-seat storage
  • An extensive and comfortable seat
  • Conventional yet catchy look
  • Necessary connectivity and features
  • Robust build quality
  • Joystick control
  • Fast charging

With all these features and specifications, the Ather Rizta is just the right scooter market need.

Ather Rizta Specifications:

At a glance, it has a battery with a storage capacity of 2.9 and 3.7kWh (2 different variants), enabling the scooter to achieve 123 and 160km of IEDC range. It weights 119 kg and has a range of 160km, so the range: weight ratio comes out to be 1.34, which is higher than the Ather 450X, which is 1.31, which tells us that Ather Rizta, despite having longer dimensions and weight carrying capacity, is more efficient than their older versions which are the 450X and 450S.

Ather Rizta Pricing:

If you may observe, there’s a vast price game going on in the market, and every EV maker is doing it. Ola Electric recently played the biggest price game by offering an E-Scooter by removing all its intelligent features. The Ola S1 X 4kWh model is a copy of the Ola S1 PRO without any intelligent features. Due to this, the specifications that Ola was offering for 1.5 lakh dropped to 90k only. This is an excellent observation because not everyone cares about intelligent features. Most customers want an electric scooter with excellent utility value and a higher range.

Ather tried a similar pattern with its “Rizta.” They removed a crucial touchscreen feature from it, which helped them significantly reduce its cost.

Here’s a cost breakdown of the Ather Rizta E-Scooter.

Starting from 1.05 lakh, the price of Ather Rizta goes up to 1.37 lakh.

The Scooter warranty of 3 years or 30,000km and 3 years full warranty on chargers.
