The Honda EV+, Toyota RAV4EV, and the inductively-charged Nissan Hypermini were produced in Japan. The three US electric vehicles (EVs) were the iconic GM EV1 , Chrysler TEVan , and the nearly forgotten Ford RangerEV , Ford used lead-acid batteries with the expected driving range of nearly 65 miles on warm, windless summer days.

In standard mode, the high voltage battery charges only up to 35 kWh and the vehicle is expected to achieve an EPA-estimated driving range rating of 92 miles. kWh, providing an anticipated EPA-estimated driving range of 113 miles. So, in a standard mode of 92 miles, in an extended miles we might see a label range of 113 miles.

But it works best if we use plug-in hybrids to power most of our miles electrically. We try to be careful to emphasize in the fine print that PHEVs can get over 100 miles/gallon of gasoline , PLUS electric costs of about 1-2 cents/mile. We can also extrapolate some data from experience with the RAV4EV all-electric vehicles.
