The US Department of Energy (DOE) has published a Beyond Tailpipe Emissions Calculator that provides estimates of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with driving an electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), including emissions from the production of electricity used to power the vehicle.

A team at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) led by Dr. Jeremy Michalek has investigated the implications of regional and drive cycle variations on the degradation of a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) battery. Effect of air cooling on capacity fade and battery life when annual miles driven are 14,700 miles.

Chrysler is showcasing its two-mode Ram Truck Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), equipped with a 12 kWh, 33 Ah cell, 355V Li-ion battery pack from Electrovaya, at the Washington DC Auto Show. The program is slated to rack of 9 million miles of data, with 1.4 million miles in sub-freezing temperatures and 1.1 Battery life.

Phoenix EAA may get new members when on Tuesday (fingers crossed) Amanda's EVforts pay off on ASU's Channel 8. until Amanda came.
