Coda popped onto the electric-vehicle stage in June 2009 as an offshoot of Miles Electric Vehicles, a maker of electric light trucks in China. These vehicles are expected to range in price from about $40,000 to more than $100,000. All will qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit.

The customer will only pay a monthly fee about $240 (US Dollars) which includes a full maintenance service agreement; carbon offset payments and in some countries even all electricity used, and insurance. Tax credit incentives are also available to consumers in the U.S.
