Zomato, Kotak Mahindra and Gogoro join hands to advance the ownership of EVs

The Taiwan-based battery-swapping firm Gogoro Inc. declared its partnership with Zomato and Kotak Mahindra Prime.

On Tuesday, Gogoro announced that the partnership is to encourage the last-mile transportation sector’s rapid adoption of electric mobility. The businesses will provide low-cost loan terms and battery switching services to last-mile delivery partners so they may switch to environmentally friendly modes of transportation. The alliance intends to provide convenient routes for delivery partners to take use of the benefits of Smartscooters and battery swapping while lowering air pollution. As part of the collaboration, Kotak Mahindra Prime will provide flexible lending terms.

Horace Luke, the founder and CEO of Gogoro, said in a statement, “The urban transformation to electric transportation in India’s cities has begun and it is essential that we provide delivery partners with an accessible path to own and leverage the benefits that smart electric two-wheeler vehicles and battery swapping offer. Gogoro, Zomato and Kotak are partnering to make this a reality.”

He also added, “Gogoro Network battery swapping and vehicles provide a proven track record of safety and security that Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) like Kotak Prime can embrace and support. This partnership will provide a powerful opportunity for delivery partners to lead India’s transition to smart and safe electric transportation.”
