The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, will expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) ( earlier post ) London-wide. The expansion will come into effect on 29 August 2023 and will operate across all London boroughs up to the existing Low Emission Zone boundary for large and heavy vehicles. The hydrogen fuel cell buses have been added to Transit Systems growing green fleet of sustainable transport solutions, which now includes 60 electric buses and two hydrogen buses. The hydrogen buses are equipped with the fuel cell system jointly developed by SinoHytec and Toyota. Earlier post.).

Transit Systems VIC, part of Kelsian Group, Australia’s largest integrated marine, tourism and transport company, is adding two Australian-built hydrogen fuel cell buses to the fleet as part of the Victorian Government’s three-year Zero Emissions Bus Trial. Plans for a new ‘Local Sustainable Transport Fund’ have been announced by Local Transport minister Norman Baker. New fund is designed to help local transport authorities outside London to develop measures that will help clean up transport while also improving safety and increasing levels of physical activity among local people.
