Masdar Institute files US patent for Li-ion solid polymer electrolyte battery technology

UAE-based Masdar Institute of Science and Technology has filed a provisional patent application with the US Patents and Trademarks Office for a new solid polymer electrolyte technology for Li-ion batteries. This can be achieved without adding any flammable organic solvents that are typically used with lithium-ion batteries.
