Kia Motors America (KMA) is continuing its progressive launch of the Soul EV and adding to the electric vehicle ecosystem in the Pacific Northwest with 20 Soul EV-certified dealers and a charging network. Of the 20 dealers in the region, 12 will be located in Washington and eight in Oregon.

As part of the partnership, Hyundai will provide the DOE with five NEXO fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) for use in various regions of the country including Washington, DC, to help advance research and development of fuel cell technologies. Kia Motors Corp. Hyundai provided its first NEXO SUV to the DOE in 2019.

Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), which includes Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, plans to invest $7.4 Hyundai and Kia will invest in growing its EV manufacturing footprint to scale production and satisfy US market demands. Hyundai Motor Group will launch a subsidiary in Washington, DC to spearhead the Group’s UAM businesses.

But Kia later followed up on a promise to expand sales when it determined that there was significant interest. Earlier this year, Kia announced the expansion of sales to Oregon, Washington, Georgia, Texas, and Hawaii.
