After the release of their upcoming design philosophy and few images, Kia Motors reveals the specifications of EV6. It is a crossover design and it has the brand’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Also, it is the first BEV from Kia’s new design philosophy which indicates its focus on electrification. So, let’s know about what is in the Kia EV6 car reveal.

About KIA EV6

EV 6 front view has Kia’s ‘tiger face’ which is re-interpreted for the digital era. The side profile is an inspiration from crossover design, which is sleek and aerodynamic. On the top, a roof spoiler channels air downwards towards a raised lower spoiler on the car’s rear light cluster.

The EV6 offers flexible interior packaging and an abundance of cabin storage areas, including 520 liters of trunk space with the second-row seats in place. With the second-row seats folded down, storage capacity increases to approximately 1,300 liters. The car also has a front trunk which provides up to an additional 52 liters of storage space for 2WD models and 20 liters for AWD models.

Technical overview

Kia EV 6 is available in 3 variants which are EV6, EV GT-line, EV GT6 and here are Kia’s specification claims. The highest range among these variants is 510 km for a single charge. The 800V fast charging can recharge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes and the 100 km range is possible in less than 4.5 hours. EV6 GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 260 km/h.

The EV6 GT variant offers the highest power output of 430kW which offers a peak torque of 740 N-m. The Advanced Driver Assistance System includes Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Conclusion

The production of EV 6 will be in South Korea and it will be available in select global markets starting from the second half of 2021.
