The application will take excess electricity from intermittent renewable energy sources, generate green hydrogen, and then create methanol using a low-carbon footprint production plant and carbon dioxide emissions from an existing coal-fired power plant in Essen, Germany owned by STEAG Gmbh, which operates a number of regional power plants and distributed energy facilities. Installations of up to 200 MW can be implemented relatively rapidly and efficiently operated.

GE unveils LNG In A Box system

Gasfin signed a memorandum of understanding with GE to install five LNG In A Box units serving “clusters” of LNG fueling stations. The first unit will be installed near the border of Italy and Slovenia, with the potential for an additional 25 units for expansion into Europe and the CIS countries. The small-scale solution also is economically suited for customers seeking a 10-50,000-gallons-a-day production capacity.

The three cars, which are all on display at the Paris Motor Show, are independent products with a unique brand identity. The smart fortwo is being built at smart’s Hambach plant in France, while the Twingo and the smart forfour are being produced at Renault’s plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Production will begin in 2017 with Infiniti models. The production of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will follow in 2018.

The collaboration marks the first production of Mercedes-Benz engines in the North America Free Trade region.
