The rides will be provided in a Renault Zoe or Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric vehicle that nuTonomy has specially configured for autonomous driving. An engineer from nuTonomy will ride in the vehicle to observe system performance and assume control if needed to ensure passenger comfort and safety.

The data analyzed by Aston University combines and compares the behavior patterns of 25 Mitsubishi i-MiEV drivers over two consecutive quarters. The average charge time per i-MiEV vehicle is two hours. The average cost to trial participants for recharging at home is between 25p and £1 (US$0.40 and $1.60) per day.

Having driven a conductively charged vehicle for 12 months myself, I’m personally very interested in unearthing users’ perceptions of the HaloIPT system to see how it compares to the current charging methods. Mitsubishi completed the first part of the CABLED project last December, following 12-month trials of 25 i-MiEVs.

i-MiEVs for the CABLED trials. The first stage of a Government-supported UK-wide project to trial electric and ultra low emission vehicles began Saturday in the West Midlands with the keys to 25 Mitsubishi i-MiEVs (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) ( earlier post ) being handed over to independent drivers.

Even if I couldnt see, Id be able to hear the sound of the tires well before that car got to me. I have stated the same before.
