Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies will introduce a “personal hydrogen station”—HydroFill—at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The device consumes 60W DC per hour to produce 10 liters of hydrogen (0.001 kg) per hour, enough to fill a HydroStik metal hydride storage cartridge. In 2006, Horizon introduced solar hydrogen powered toy cars. HydroPak offers 60W output (120W peak) using water-activated sodium borohydride cartridges supplied by Horizon.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen Program has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on potential early markets and deployment opportunities for hydrogen and fuel cells. The information gathered is intended to help DOE to identify key early markets, validate hydrogen and fuel cell system performance through data collection and communicate results, cultivate demand and accelerate market development, and reduce non-technical barriers that hinder market penetration.

The electric car features three different battery options, two different Lithium-based (LI) systems – A123Systems and Enerdel as well as a Sodium-Nickel battery Zebra (Mes-Dea). will become less common over the next 10-years and that a mix of alternative fuel vehicles including electric, biofuel, hydrogen and solar will and is now seeing tremendous market growth. Id like to be a fly on the wall when an H2 franchisee asks to put in a hydrogen pump at Chevron.
