Both houses of the New Jersey Legislature (Senate and Assembly) have passed a bill ( S2252 /A4819) that establishes goals and incentives for increased use of plug-in electric vehicles in NJ. According to EVAdoption, the stock of plug-ins (BEV and PHEV) in New Jersey as of 31 Dec 2018 was 25,945 units.

Electric vehicle sales in the US continue to see a significant uptick, with EV (BEV and PHEV) share of new light passenger vehicles (LPVs) reaching 7.05% in Q2 of 2022. Hyundai began the US rollout of the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) ( earlier post ) and its conventional hybrid sibling (HEV) with a series of media drives in California—one of the main markets for the PHEV, which offers some 24 miles (38.6 Sonata PHEV. Total US sales of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs)—battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric—have increased in recent years, but still represent only about 0.7% of new vehicle sales in 2014 so far, up from 0.6% However, the incentive does not apply to the purchase of PHEVs. in 2013 and 0.4% sales and use tax.

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is arriving in select dealerships in 10 states this week with an EPA-estimated 27-mile (43.5-kilometer) At the Sonata PHEV’s launch in January, Hyundai had estimated a 22-mile AER ( earlier post ), which it later bumped up to around 24 miles ( earlier post ).

I f there is any doubt that GM is serious about PHEVs, here is one more story that indicates that they are indeed very serious.
