The 2013 Lexus GS 450h is the hybrid model of Lexus' new GS sport sedan. It slots between the ES and LS in the Lexus range--and like those models, the GS 450h now offers more dramatic, distinctive styling, better performance, and better EPA economy figures. The EPA rates the 2013.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lexus introduced the fourth model—and the second hybrid—in the GS range, the GS 300h hybrid, which will be launched at the end of 2013. The new GS 300h is equipped with a second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system similar to that installed in the IS 300h. l/100 km (50 mpg US ).

Succeeded by the RX 450h in 2009, it has claimed the largest share of Lexus hybrid sales (51.2%), with 259,000 units sold through to November this year. Lexus’s second hybrid model, the GS 450h, was introduced in 2006 and was the first premium production sedan to be fitted with a rear-wheel drive full hybrid powertrain.

Toyota has the widest hybrid range in the world and aims to introduce a hybrid model in every segment by 2020. In Europe, Toyota manufactures the Yaris Hybrid, Auris Hybrid, Auris Hybrid Touring Sports. TME will add the RAV4 Hybrid in January next year.

2013 Lexus GS 450h. Lexus has introduced its all-new 2013 GS 450h hybrid at the Frankfurt motor show. The hybrid version of the 2013 GS 350 incorporates improvements to its hybrid powertrain and is equipped with a second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system. The new GS hybrid also features a Drive Mode selector.

Lexus remains the only premium brand in Europe to offer three full hybrids as part of its range: the GS 450h, the LS 600h and the newly-launched RX 450h. The third generation Toyota Prius, which is currently being launched in Europe, has generated more than 17,000 additional customer orders since June 2009.
