The fourth generation Lexus GS first went on sale in Europe in 2012 as a three model range comprising the GS 250, GS 350 AWD and the high-performance flagship, the full hybrid GS 450h. The new GS 300h is equipped with a second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system similar to that installed in the IS 300h.

The EPA estimates the G80’s fuel economy to be 17 mpg city/26 highway/20 combined. If fuel economy is a pacing item, then getting 32 mpg with the smaller displacement probably is worth foregoing the performance benefits of the larger engine. Plenty of stopping power. For better economy, the 2.5L engine with 300 hp and 311 lb.-ft.
